Axis 4 of the ICT Industry Master Plan: new scientific and technological infrastructure

Axis 4 of the Strategic Plan for the ICT Industry in Galicia focuses on promoting new scientific and technological infrastructure to advance in strategic areas such as 👇

▪️ Semiconductors and chips: leveraging the knowledge of Galician universities and technology centres, the aim is to attract new investment projects and develop our own industrial and innovative capacity. A good example of this is SPARC, an initiative that emerged from the University of Vigo.

▪️ Satellite communications: the Galician space industry will be strengthened, along with the development of capabilities linked to this type of communications, cybersecurity and quantum technologies.

▪️ Cybersecurity: the Galician network of laboratories specialised in this area will be consolidated in R&D+i centres, including those of Gradiant, the ITG Technology Center, the CTAG – Centro Tecnológico de Automoción de Galicia and the University of Vigo.

▪️ Applied artificial intelligence: the creation of a network of experimentation centres and AI demonstrators will be promoted to facilitate the development of solutions based on this technology for various sectors and to leverage public data as an asset for innovation.
